Spinal Cord Injury Network would like to offer you a complimentary one-year membership! We've been busy. Here are a few developments:

Team member in sucsessful five year NIDRR RRTC grant
Started a wheelchair basketball team, found a sponsor, and are their fiscal agent; our new team is called the Adventist Rolling Knights
Peer Mentor training scheduleded regularly (See the website or call 301-424-8335 for info). Will train ten peer mentors for new injury hospital visits, etc.
Fiscal agent for Trellis Foundation's Direct Action grant to help people with disabilities get out of nursing homes
Joined with other community leaders and medical professionals to establish the Spinal Cord Injury Consortium of the Metropolitan Washington Area, now housed at the SCI Network
Added 28 new Personal Assistance Services (PAS) providers to our PAS Registry
Fiscal agent for Capitol Area ADAPT, assisting in their efforts to give people with disabilities real choices in community services
Fed 350 area homeless children and adults at the eighth annual Season of Sharing
Website receives 6000 page hits per month, an increase of 50% in one year

The Network provides information and referral, advocacy and visitation, and peer counseling and support to persons with spinal cord injuries, as well as other mobility impairing conditions, and to their families and service providers. We operate a Personal Assistance Services Registry, website, monthly newsletter, and art gallery where people with disabilities can display and sell their work. We are pleased to offer you complimentary membership, because we want the SCI community to receive the best and most up-to-date information available on SCI. We are committed to maximizing the quality of life for people with SCI, and other mobility impairing conditions. Your one-year membership is free.
